WebMail Notifier Accounts check issue with Firefox 6.0.2 [ Resolved ]

I am avid user of Mozilla Firefox and the one key reason is lot of add-ons option that many other browsers are missing at this point. I have almost used every version of Firefox since its inception and faced some problems as well. The most common issue I personally encounter till this date is lack of particular add-on support after updating to latest version of Firefox.

Recently Firefox 6.0.2 was launched and before that I was using Firefox 6.0 with one key add-on called WebMail Notifier installed on. Actually I have dozens of Gmail accounts that I frequently check and WebMail Notifier add-on give me easy access to all my accounts in one browser. But last week I suddenly faced irritating issue when updated my Firefox to 6.0.2 version. The problem actually was WebMail Notifier unable to check all my accounts due to unknown reason. It was so annoying that I finally decided to Google up and found following very easy solution to rectify WebMail Notifier accounts issue.

Follow the steps below:

Note: Remember this guide is only meant for Windows 7 users but I am sure it will work fine with other Windows versions as well.

1: Go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4d3ty454.default\extensions\{37fa9926-b82d-77db-8314-0822600c9a66}\components\scripts

The italic parts above except username can be identified as latest modified that you can check under the column name “Date Modified”. These names must be different at your system so check accordingly.

2: under the scripts folder locate a file name gmail.js and make a copy of it in case something goes wrong and backup can be restored.

3: open gmail.js into any java editor well I used Adobe Dreamweaver

4: Go to line number 13 and replace www.google.com to accounts.google.com

5: repeat step 4 at line number 20 as well

6: save the file and close application

7: restart Firefox and wait for WebMail Notifier to check your Gmail accounts.
